Can you use Kalshi outside the US?

Checked October 12, 2026 against Kalshi's Member Agreement and Help Center · 55 restricted jurisdictions · 198 countries and territories · not legal advice

Yes, from many countries, but not from everywhere. As of October 12, 2026, Kalshi's Member Agreement (the file Kalshi served that day is dated October 1, 2026) bars anyone domiciled, organized or located in 55 named jurisdictions from trading event contracts, plus anywhere under country-wide or regional US economic sanctions. The list includes Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, France, Italy, Switzerland and Singapore. A country that is not on the list still goes through Kalshi's identity and country checks, and your local law applies. Not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Kalshi outside the US?

Yes, from many countries, but not from everywhere. Kalshi's Help Center says you can trade from many countries subject to its Member Agreement, and signup checks your identity and country of residence. The agreement Kalshi served on October 12, 2026 bars anyone domiciled, organized or located in 55 named jurisdictions, and anywhere under country-wide or regional US economic sanctions, from trading event contracts.

Which countries are restricted on Kalshi?

As of October 12, 2026, Section VI of Kalshi's Member Agreement names 55 restricted jurisdictions: Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Canada, Central African Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, France, Haiti, Hungary, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Monaco, Mozambique, Myanmar (Burma), Namibia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, North Korea, People's Republic of China, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Yemen and Zimbabwe. It also covers any jurisdiction or territory under country-wide, territory-wide or regional US economic sanctions.

Can I use Kalshi in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia or India?

Not for event contracts. Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and India are all named restricted jurisdictions in the Member Agreement checked on October 12, 2026, so people who live there or are located there may not trade Kalshi's event contracts.

Is Kalshi available in Germany, Austria, Spain or the Netherlands?

None of the four is on the restricted list in the Member Agreement checked on October 12, 2026. That is not a promise that you can trade: Kalshi checks your identity and country of residence at signup and can refuse or limit any account, and your own country's law still applies. In Europe, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United Kingdom are restricted.

How do international users deposit and withdraw on Kalshi?

Kalshi's Help Center lists debit card (Visa or Mastercard), wire transfer in US dollars ($1,000 minimum) and crypto for deposits from outside the US, and debit card or crypto for withdrawals. ACH bank transfers, PayPal and Venmo are not available to international users. Card deposits may carry a 2% processing fee; Kalshi charges no fee for wire deposits or for card and crypto withdrawals.

Can I use a VPN to trade on Kalshi from a restricted country?

No. The Member Agreement bars trading event contracts for anyone domiciled, organized or located in a restricted jurisdiction, so what counts is where you are, not where your connection appears to come from. Kalshi's card deposit help page also asks you to turn off any active VPN.

Can I use Kalshi while traveling abroad?

Kalshi's Help Center says yes, as long as your access is consistent with the eligibility and geographic requirements of the Member Agreement. The restricted list covers where you are located, so it also applies while you visit a restricted country.

Do I need a US phone number to sign up for Kalshi?

No. Kalshi supports phone numbers from most countries, but some country codes are not supported; if signup rejects your number, the Help Center suggests trying another one.

Is Kalshi legal in my country?

Kalshi does not answer that for you. Its Help Center says it is your responsibility to make sure your access and use are permissible and lawful, that regulations vary widely between countries and that Kalshi does not give individual legal or eligibility advice. CFTC oversight is US regulation and does not settle how your country treats event contracts. This page is not legal advice.
