The vig (or juice) is the bookmaker's margin: the implied chances of all sides add up to more than 100%. At -110 on both sides they add up to 104.76%, a hold of 4.55%.
Turn each side's odds into an implied chance, add them up, and divide each chance by the total. That proportional method is what this calculator uses; other methods (such as the power or Shin method) shift a little more margin onto long shots.
Compare the Kalshi price plus its taker fee with the book's implied chance for the same side. Kalshi's fee is largest at 50 cents and small near 1 or 99 cents, so the answer depends on the price, the order size and the book's margin; the calculator shows all three.
