1099 tax forms: IRS information returns Kalshi issues to users who meet IRS reporting thresholds: 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, 1099-B and 1099-DA, each for a different item.
Kalshi's help center says users who hit certain IRS reporting thresholds receive: 1099-INT for interest payments from Kalshi, 1099-MISC for credits and rewards from Kalshi, 1099-B for transaction proceeds from broker transactions (crypto transfers), and 1099-DA for digital asset transaction reporting from Zero Hash. If no 1099 appears in your account, Kalshi says you likely did not meet the thresholds.
The forms are in the Account tab under Tax Info, or behind a secure link emailed by Zenwork, Kalshi's tax form provider. The same page has a yearly profit and loss statement, computed first in, first out (FIFO), including fees and rebates, and updated on the first of each month.
The IRS form pages explain each form: 1099-INT is filed for interest of at least $10, 1099-MISC for items such as prizes, awards and other income of at least $600, 1099-B for proceeds from broker and barter exchange transactions, and 1099-DA for digital asset proceeds from broker transactions. Kalshi says its tax information is not tax advice. The forms alone do not settle how event contract gains are taxed, so keep your own records and ask a tax professional.
